Tail End of a Chicken Truck
Well as some of you may know; I finished up my career at Wal-Mart yesterday. There were some sad good byes; however God has some big plans ahead of us. I’m sure many of you have put in your two weeks notice at a job before, and for those of you who haven’t let me tell you. It is the longest two weeks of your life, especially the last day. I didn’t think it was ever going to end. It is kind of funny because on Thursday I got stuck on the tail end of a chicken truck while on my motorcycle. For those of you who might not know what a chicken truck is: it is a 53 foot trailer filled with caged live chickens. Not a frozen meat packing truck. Live, smelly, dirty chickens! Anyways, I figure no big deal. I will just drive around it. It was just my luck that just as I was going to pass it, the truck driver decided to pass the truck in front of him. (I think he was just trying to be funny.) It turns out the truck in front of him is a chicken truck filled with live, smelly, dirty chickens. So here I am frustrated ready to get past these stinky chickens, and now I am stuck behind two trucks filled with CHICKENS. Sure enough they took their sweet time just driving next to each other while I was getting hit in the face with feathers, and bird droppings. FUN, FUN, FUN!! NoooooooooooT!!!!!!!!! Eventually I was able to get around, and get some fresh air and enjoy my ride. You are asking yourself what does this have to do with your last day at work? Let me tell you. The last two weeks of work have felt like I have been stuck behind a chicken truck. It has just stunk. Things went wrong, work seemed to pile up, and people’s attitudes just were not the best. (Note: This is not to discredit Wal-Mart in anyway. Wal-Mart is an excellent company to work for.) I think Satan was trying to break my spirit. Friday did eventually come, and I had an awesome farewell party. I will miss those guys. When 5:00pm finally came around; I felt free. I felt like I was finally going to be able to accomplish God’s will in ministry. It is an excellent feeling. I went home washed up, and relaxed for a bit, until my family, and I went to dinner over at the Cox’s house, and guess what we had for dinner? CHICKEN! (It was some of the best tasting chicken spaghetti I have ever eaten.) The food and fellowship was very refreshing. All my thoughts, and stress from the last two weeks were gone. Aren’t friends a great thing to have? When you get stuck behind one of life’s chicken trucks be patient, turn it over to the Lord, and remember it can always be worse. You can be stuck behind two chicken trucks on a motorcycle.

I have to say that this is one of my favorite post.
