Another One Bites the Dust
On my way into work this morning my father-in-law called me, and said he needed help dragging out a big buck out of the deer woods. I kindly headed that way, and when I arrived I was all decked out in church clothes. I don’t know what I was thinking. Anyways, luckily I had a spare shirt in my car; so I quickly changed, and darted into the woods. When I finally found my father-in-law he had a huge smile on his face. It turned out that this was his first deer. I was very proud of him, especially since his first was a nice 9 pointer. What happened next was a little unexpected. He looks at me, hands me his knife, and in his own way told me to get to work. Whether he knew how to field dress a dear or not I don’t know, but I do know that I ended up doing it. That is ok, because I am very proud of him, and I look forward to all of our future hunts together. Now I find myself sitting behind my desk stinking. Cologne and scented candles just aren’t cutting it. I’m gonna have to go home after lunch and shower. *Note to self: Be prepared for anything.
