FIREPROOF

I went out on a date with my wife the other night for the first time in almost a year.  It was a very pleasant time, and the best part was not having any kids around.  We decided to go and watch the movie “Fireproof.”  It was awesome.  This movie brought up probably 85% of the main issues that face marriages today.  The main things that were left out were alcohol, debt, and children.  Finances were discussed to some degree, however not in the way that most marriages struggle, like paying the bills on time, struggling to put food on the table, and some of the everyday financial struggles.  Addictions were covered to a certain degree, and the struggles of parenting were totally left out.  That is ok though, because I don’t think that was the direction the movie was going towards.  Its main focus was the relationship between the man and woman, and children would have just complicated the story line.  My only concern with this movie was that it desensitized the woman’s role in marital conflict.  You might say “You’re only saying that because you are a man.”  I have actually talked with many women who have been married for some time, and who have seen it, and they agree.  Other than that, Kirk Cameron and his wife did an excellent job portraying the struggles of marriage.  I don’t even know where to begin to start with all of the positives of the movie.

It allowed the audience to watch how their lives might play out, and how to make them better.  I also loved the relationship between the Father and son.  The thing about this movie is that it is so genuine, heartfelt, and motivating that you can’t help but shed a tear.  I consider myself a pretty manly man, other than that one time a wore a tootoo.  Anyways, that is a different story entirely.  I actually shed a tear.  Some might consider this a chick flick, either way all couples need to watch this movie.  Whether your dating, engaged, married, separated, no matter what stage your relationship is at I would highly recommend this movie.  The movie also gives a clear outlined plan of salvation. I give it 5 out of 5 stars.

I reall loved this movie,be happy when I can buy it, I saw it at the
Roseburg Cinemas, they put it in the smallest theater that they have, not any
thing telling about. If I hadn’t saw it in the theater adds in the paper, I wouldwouldn’t know it was here.
