In the Chat Room with God

513552nq7sl__ss400_One of my students recently urged me to read a book that she owned called “In the Chat Room with God” by Jedd and Todd Hafer, and I kindly replied “yes, I will read it.”  After getting into the first 2 chapters I really found myself disconnected, primarily because this book was written for teenagers.  I found my self lost with some of the teen vernacular / vocabulary, and it wasn’t until I completely finished the book that I discovered that there was a word glossary in the back which defined some of these terms.  (Example: Amped, Mook, Scoopage, etc…)  This book however did take a turn for the better.  Once you established who each of the characters were the story began to come alive to you.  The neat thing about this book is how it introduces Theology and Apologetics to the student reader.  I would probably only recommend this book to teenage readers, however there is a little bit of something that we could all learn from it.
